MEET MICHAEL WELSH
FULL-TIME WORK. RAISING A FAMILY. CONTINUING EDUCATION.
Michael Welsh is an occupational safety professional who earned an associates degree while balancing the duties of family and working full-time. He has worked for almost two decades in the manufacturing sector and has roots in Oregon’s working community. He knows what it means to work hard and still feel squeezed by higher prices. He’s running to bring real-world experience and working-family values to the State Legislature.
As a dedicated father of two he has watched the last few years as school districts across Oregon have had to get creative with their shrinking budgets. He believes that our public education system needs the proper funding, so teachers and students have the tools they need to succeed.

Michael currently serves on the City of Keizer’s Multi-Modal Safety Committee, serves as the Technology Chair for the SHARP Alliance Board of Directors and was a director at large for the Voluntary Protection Plan Participants Association (VPPPA) Region X Board of Directors. All of these boards are dedicated to promoting health and safety protections for people across the region.
Michael is not a career politician, he is someone who has lived the same challenges many families in our community face: rising costs, balancing work and family, and wanting better opportunities for our kids. That experience shapes how he will approach decisions, practical, focused, and rooted in what actually works.

He is committed to focusing on the issues that matter most here: lowering costs, strengthening our schools, supporting our immigrant community members as they navigate the path towards citizenship, supporting local jobs, and keeping our communities safe. Just as important, he is committed to listening , bringing people together and representing everyone in the district.
This campaign is about making sure our community has a voice that understands their reality and is ready to fight for it every day.
